The NBA will soon reveal that two legends are about to enter the historic Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

According to Shams Charania, both Vince Carter and Chauncey Billups have been elected into the Hall of Fame and the league will make an official announcement this Saturday at the Final Four.

The choice of Carter and Billups isn’t too surprising and most people assumed they would be the headliners for the Class of 2024.

Carter was an eight-time All-Star, Rookie of the Year, and is considered one of the best dunkers of all time.

During his 22 years in the NBA, he averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists and played for multiple teams, including the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets.

As for Billups, he earned five All-Star appearances and was a part of three All-NBA teams too.

He helped the Detroit Pistons win a championship in 2004 and won Finals MVP.

His career average over 17 years was 15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.

Although Carter and Billups will likely be the biggest names in this year’s class, other well-known NBA icons could be selected too.

Michael Cooper and Walter Davis are finalists for this year, as well as former Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon, player/coach/broadcaster Doug Collins, and Jerry West, this time as an executive.

The Class of 2024 will be unveiled this Saturday, during the NCAA’s Final Four, and then the enshrinement ceremony will be held this summer, on August 17.

Carter and Billups have both stayed very busy since retiring as players.

Carter has made numerous television appearances and still gives his opinions about the league, while Billups is the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.
