With the Denver Broncos informing Russell Wilson that he’s going to be released, the former Super Bowl champion has been granted permission to speak to other teams.

Wilson could be an upgrade at the position for multiple QB-needy teams.

However, James Palmer of the NFL Network reports that there doesn’t seem to be much of an interest in his services.

“I spoke to multiple quarterback needy teams today and all of them told me Russell Wilson is not an option in terms of things they are looking at to fill their opening,” Palmer said.

Palmer stated that he reached out to multiple teams that were expected to make a run at a quarterback in the offseason, and they claimed that Wilson didn’t fit what they are currently trying to do.

He adds that things could change drastically as soon as the dominoes start to fall, but as of now, there’s not much of a market for the former Super Bowl champion, at least not as a starter.

Wilson is coming off the two worst years of his career, and his time under Sean Payton will be one to forget.

However, as much as this two-year tenure may have taken a toll on his reputation, Wilson’s numbers were far from bad.

He’s still a guy who can take good care of the football and can extend plays, and it’s hard to think he couldn’t be of help to several teams.

Hopefully, this won’t be the end of the line for the former Seattle Seahawks superstar.
