The Houston Astros are not having the start to the season that they had hoped.

Since the beginning of spring training, we have seen the Astros lose a few players to injury.

The most prominent injury has been to Astros pitcher Justin Verlander.

He is suffering from a shoulder injury and he is expected to begin the season on the injured list.

To make matters worse, the Astros suffered another injury to their starting rotation.

According to Brian McTaggart, starter Jose Urquidy has been diagnosed with a forearm muscle strain.

He is likely to begin the season on the IL.

It is not ideal to see multiple starters begin the season injured.

But, it is not yet time to panic for the Astros.

Playing in the AL West will not be easy, as Houston will be going toe to toe with the defending champion Texas Rangers.

So having their full roster healthy as soon as possible will be crucial.

On paper, the Astros do not have many question marks on their roster.

The addition of Josh Hader in their bullpen made them even better.

This is a team with few flaws that will only be exposed by injuries.

Some of their key hitters have struggled with injuries over the past few years.

Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez both missed substantial time last season.

But, their lineup seems to be healthy as we close in on Opening Day.

This is the Astros first season since 2019 without manager Dusty Baker.

But, the players are the ones that win games and Houston has some of the best in the sport.
