The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the talk of the MLB offseason.

It is hard not to be when they signed Shohei Ohtani to the largest contract in MLB history.

He is a once-in-a-generation player and someone that the Dodgers think will take them over the top.

Despite having some great regular-season records, the Dodgers have recently fallen flat on their face in the playoffs.

Losing in the NLDS each of the last two years leaves a bad taste in their mouths.

That is why the Dodgers spent as much money as necessary to acquire the best roster possible.

Ohtani has a chance to become a Dodgers legend very quickly.

He is the most valuable player in baseball, due to his two-way ability.

But, even just as a hitter he is a difference-maker.

Colin Cowherd discussed how significant Ohtani’s impact has been for the Dodgers, via “The Herd.”

He said: “When people talk about Spring Training games locally, you know something is significant.”

In his first spring training game with the Dodgers, Ohtani hit a home run.

People have still not stopped talking about that swing.

Ohtani should be in for a career year hitting in the Dodgers lineup.

He is surrounded by former MVPs and opposing pitchers will have to pitch to him.

Anything short of 100+ RBI and 40+ home runs would be surprising.

The star power of Ohtani will only continue to rise as his career moves on.

But, anything short of a World Championship with the Dodgers will be a disappointment.
