San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has thus far lived up to the massive hype that has surrounded him for the past 18 months or so, and it is clear he will not only be a future superstar but perhaps the face of the NBA in a few years.

While the Spurs have been a horrible team, Wembanyama is already putting up some very good numbers, and his game has seemingly improved as the season has gone on.

Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green said that the France native may already be one of the NBA’s top-20 players, per The Volume via NBACentral.

Wembanyama is averaging 20.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and an NBA-high 3.4 blocked shots per game, and his shooting efficiency has gradually improved over time.

On the season, he’s at 46.7 percent from the field, but in his last 15 games, he has made 42.4 percent of his 3-point attempts.

What’s amazing about him is the fact that at 7-foot-4, he has a fluidity and a basic set of offensive skills that are almost unheard of for a man his size — perhaps only Ralph Sampson has possessed similar ball-handling and perimeter shooting skills at 7-foot-4.

Wembanyama’s defense is well ahead of his offense right now, and his offensive skills are rudimentary at the moment, but he is already a nightmare for opposing teams.

It’s scary to think about how great he will be in just two or three years, which is when Green feels he may win the league MVP, even though at that point he will still be several years away from simply entering his prime.
