The Philadelphia Eagles finally suffered their first defeat of the 2023 NFL season as they lost to the New York Jets in Week 6.

It was an uncharacteristically poor offensive performance from the Eagles, though that should say a lot about the talented Jets’ defense.

Philadelphia has explosive weapons in A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, but the wide receiver tandem found some trouble getting open against New York.

However, Week 7 represents a different challenge as they’ll take on the Miami Dolphins and their high-octane offense on Sunday Night Football.

So far, the Dolphins have been the most electrifying scoring team in the league and the Eagles are going to have to keep pace if they hope to avoid a second consecutive loss.

With that in mind, Philadelphia decided to bring in reinforcements as they’ve elevated Julio Jones from the practice squad and will be active on Sunday via Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

At 34 years old, it remains to be seen just how much gas Jones has left in the tank, but he does give Philadelphia another interesting wrinkle to throw at Miami.

Jones last played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022, and went unsigned as a free agent during the offseason.

However, he lands in a great situation with the Eagles as he won’t be asked to do much other than try and ease the burden off Brown and Smith.

He’ll likely get a limited number of snaps in his first game of the season, but fans are surely excited to see one of the best receivers in league history back on the field.
