Russell Wilson is going to be released by the Denver Broncos just days from now, and it will mercifully end a failed two-year experiment with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

While the Broncos will be hampered moving forward due to all the draft picks they gave up to get him in 2022, not to mention all the dead cap space he will leave behind, he should have multiple suitors in free agency.

Perhaps Wilson’s dismal two-year stint in Denver has dented his legacy and reputation a bit, but Joy Taylor said on FS1’s “Speak” that she still thinks he can win another Super Bowl championship.

As Taylor noted, Wilson’s first season with the Broncos was a disaster, but he did do better in 2023, at least statistically.

He completed 66.4 percent of his pass attempts and threw for 3,070 yards and 26 touchdowns, although his 6.9 yards gained per pass attempt were a career-low.

Wilson seemed to clash a bit with head coach Sean Payton, and Payton’s offense perhaps wasn’t a good fit for Wilson, who is a master of the read-option system.

There are a few teams that could perhaps give Wilson a shot at winning it all with a ready-made roster, something Denver didn’t have when they obtained him.

Among them could be the Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, or even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if Baker Mayfield, their incumbent QB1, ends up walking.

With all the money Wilson has been paid by the Broncos, perhaps he would be willing to sign at a bargain rate with a team that could compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy right away.

Wilson already won a Super Bowl ring in 2013 with the Seattle Seahawks, and at age 35, every season is potentially his last shot at another world championship.
