The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently No. 3 in the Eastern Conference.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem like they’re having a good time on the court right now.

Donovan Mitchell has talked about the lack of a sense of urgency, and he recently pumped the brakes on Dan Gilbert’s comments about his impending contract extension.

Despite their good season and record, there could be something going on behind closed doors on J.B. Bickerstaff’s team.

That’s why former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins doesn’t like what he’s seeing right now (via Sam Amico).

Talking about the Cavs, he claimed that he doesn’t see any type of joy, spirit, or effort.

He’s concerned about the fact that a team sitting in the No. 3 spot should be looking to make a run, and that doesn’t seem to be the case with this team.

From a basketball standpoint, the Cavs could still make some noise.

They’ve managed to win many games despite having Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Donovan Mitchell missing plenty of games.

Then again, the playoffs are a different thing, and they haven’t been truly battle-tested yet.

As things stand now, they’re looking at a first-round matchup with Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, and that’s not something any team should be looking forward to, especially such a young squad.

Still, they don’t want to rest on their laurels and slip in the standings, as the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks are right behind him and could cost them home-court advantage in the first round.
