The Atlanta Falcons have struggled to find an answer at quarterback since the departure of Matt Ryan.

Ryan was a stable, consistent part of their offense, and when he left, the team didn’t seem to find their footing.

That all seemed to change during this year’s free agent cycle, as the team decided to sign Kirk Cousins to a four-year deal worth up to $180 million.

While the general consensus about this signing has been positive, some people have expressed concern with the total value of this deal, especially since Cousins is coming off an Achilles injury.

Cousins recently spoke with Charles Barkley about this phenomenon in a video shared by Bleacher Report.

When Barkley asked him about fans being up in arms about his contracts, Cousins said, “I’m not gonna apologize.”

He doesn’t seem to mind or care what others think of him.

Cousins has been given large contracts because teams believe he can perform well for them, helping their team get to the next level.

To this point in his career, Cousins has had seasons where he has put up top-five stats among quarterbacks, but he hasn’t been able to bring his team to the Super Bowl.

This has created a narrative that he can’t win in the big games, which he will hope to correct this year in Atlanta.

While the money might seem like a lot to the average fan or analyst, it will be worth it if Cousins finds a way to bring them a title.
