Prior to the 2023-24 NBA season, the Boston Celtics already had an established core of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, alongside an excellent supporting cast.

However, the Celtics decided to shake things up and traded for Kristaps Porzingis.

Porzingis had an excellent season with the Washington Wizards and his arrival to the Celtics instantly made them the league’s newest superteam in the summer.

As expected, the Celtics have thoroughly dominated their opponents this season and Porzingis has played a key role in that.

Speaking of things from Porzingis’ perspective, the veteran center recently shared his views on playing for the Celtics via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston on Twitter.

“It was a no brainer for me… I’ve been smiling ever since,” Porzingis said.

Getting traded to a team like the Boston Celtics is always exciting for players.

After all, the Celtics are tied for winning the most number of NBA Championships in the history of the league.

The cherry on top is the presence of an already well-established core.

As for his career with the team, Porzingis has played 44 games for the Celtics this season, where he has averaged 20.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Porzingis is also shooting a solid 52.6% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point line this season.

If the former fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft wasn’t sharing the court with four other excellent starters, he could have earned the second NBA All-Star selection of his career.

At the end of the day, the Celtics have the best record in the league that ultimately increases his chances of winning a ring.
