The vibes and energy have been good for the Los Angeles Lakers during the early stages of training camp.

After a deep postseason run, the Lakers are feeling refreshed and ready to take on the 2023-24 NBA season head on.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are fully healthy and ready to go, while the other returners have been hard at work getting themselves set to handle more responsibility.

Even the newcomers have been bringing the energy as they looked just as motivated to compete for a title for the storied franchise.

Davis expressed a desire to play less center during the regular season, so Los Angeles responded by first signing Jaxson Hayes in free agency.

Hayes is quite the athlete and he is already showing what he can bring to the team as he threw down a massive dunk during a pick-and-roll drill via the Lakers’ official Twitter account.

Max Christie is the ball handler in the video and Hayes sets a screen and rolls hard to the rim.

Christie then hits Hayes on the move with a sweet bounce pass that the big man catches and takes off for the finish.

Like Davis, Hayes is a great lob finisher who can also run the floor well and put pressure on the defense as a roller.

The Lakers also have Christian Wood as an option at center, though he’s more of an isolation scorer and outside shooter.

Darvin Ham has got much more versatility and talent to work with this time around and Hayes should be able to find minutes so long as he buys into his role on both ends of the floor.
