The New England Patriots are going through their worst season in recent memory, and as a result, they’re seemingly in uncharted waters.

They have the task of trying to figure out whether Mac Jones is truly their next franchise quarterback, as well as building an adequate team around either him or a worthy replacement for him.

New England somehow managed to defeat the Buffalo Bills, 29-25, on Sunday, and Jones played one of the better games of his career by completing 25 of 30 passes for 272 yards and two touchdown passes.

The team celebrated following the win, which was only their second of the year, and team legend Rob Gronkowski blasted them for acting so wildly, per “Up & Adams.”

Although pro athletes need to have a confidence that borders on arrogance to become great, they must also carry themselves with a measure of humility, knowing that each win is merely part of the process toward hopefully becoming a world champion.

The Patriots are obviously a long ways away from winning their seventh Super Bowl title, if they ever get there to begin with, and this will, in all likelihood, end up being a lost season for them.

As a result, there have been rumors that head coach Bill Belichick’s job may not be safe and that he could either get fired or voluntarily leave at some point in the next few months.

If either scenario comes to pass, the Patriots’ task of returning to the greatness they took for granted when Gronkowski was their star tight end will become even more difficult.
