The Chicago Bears are gearing up to make a significant change at quarterback.

After trading away Justin Fields, the Bears all but confirmed that they’ll draft a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Caleb Williams is expected to be drafted in this spot, given his standing as the top-rated prospect in many analyst’s minds.

While the Bears do hold the No. 1 pick and could draft Williams, Robert Griffin III recently spoke about his concerns with this selection in a conversation with Mina Kimes.

“My issue is the coaching staff. What they did with Mitchell Trubisky and what they did with Justin Fields, Ryan Poles comes out and says they want to break the cycle,” Griffin said.

Griffin believes the Bears are heading down a familiar path, and the only way they can rewrite history is by making major changes.

The Bears have struggled to find consistency at the position, even though Fields and Trubuisky were highly rated coming into the league.

If they “break the cycle,” as Griffin suggests, Williams might be able to break through and provide a different QB experience for this team.

Only time will tell how this situation will play out for both sides.

Williams is a top-tier talent, and if he enters into an ideal situation, he could change the course of a franchise.

If that team does end up being the Bears, they have added a few receivers lately to help him, so if the culture and coaching situation is positive, things might just work out for them.
