Following back-to-back heartbreaking losses, the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to get right back on track with three consecutive wins.

Nonetheless, the recent triumph over the Indianapolis Colts could’ve come at a high cost, as QB Trevor Lawrence suffered a knee injury late in the game.

The former No. 1 pick managed to stay on the field until the end of the game, and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network shared a major update on his condition.

Per the insider, there’s optimism about him dodging a big disaster and major injury.

He’ll undergo an MRI on his knee, but he’s currently designated as day-to-day, and while he won’t have a lot of time to heal ahead of Thursday night’s game vs. the New Orleans Saints, he’s expected to be good to go.

Lawrence and the Jaguars are sitting atop the AFC South Division with a 4-2 record.

Their only losses of the season came at the heels of the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs and the divisional-rival Houston Texans.

They have one of the most favorable schedules for the remainder of the season, and Lawrence has looked better and more comfortable as the weeks go by.

The Clemson alumnus has taken some major leaps forward under HC Doug Pederson.

Still, the Jaguars must be extremely cautious with him, so if he doesn’t feel close to 100%, they can afford to let him sit out and heal, especially considering the fact that they’re just a couple of weeks away from their bye week.
