After he was fired as the head coach of the Denver Broncos following the 2021 season, Vic Fangio spent a portion of the 2022 campaign as a defensive consultant for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fangio is now the defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins, and this week, his defense will be facing the team he helped reach the Super Bowl last season.

The veteran defensive coach recently admitted that the Dolphins could potentially be at a disadvantage this weekend since he might have actually provided the Eagles with a little too much information in 2022 per Andrew Brandt.

Given how NFL coaches are typically not known for their honesty, this could potentially be Fangio either telling the truth or it could be him making an attempt to convince Philadelphia that they know what sort of defense Miami will be running this week.

With this in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see the Dolphins defense show some different looks out on the field when they take on the Eagles.

In their first season with Fangio calling the shots, Miami’s defense has been average in terms of points and yards allowed so far.

However, the Dolphins’ new defensive coordinator has led them to have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL this year.

Miami is currently tied for second in the league in sacks with 21, and their pressure rate (27.8 percent) ranks seventh heading into Week 7.

If the Dolphins are going to have any chance at coming out of their next game with a win, then they’re going to need their pass rush to continue to play at a high level to make life extremely difficult for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and his blockers.
