The Philadelphia Phillies are hoping to get contributions from all over their roster this season.

That is what it usually takes to compete across a 162-game season.

Injuries occur, and all 26 men on the roster will be counted on at some point.

One player who is fighting to make the Phillies’ Opening Day roster is Cristian Pache.

Last season, Pache played 48 games with the Phillies and batted .238 in that span.

Now he is trying to show offensive improvements this spring.

As shared by the Phillies, Pache launched a solo home run in spring training on Thursday.

That is something we only saw two times last year.

Pache has always been known as a defense-first player.

He has a great glove and a strong throwing arm which makes him valuable.

But, to stick in the big leagues you have to hit.

Entering his age-25 season, Pache is hoping to show he has made improvements as a batter.

Currently, the Phillies’ starting outfield seems set with Nick Castellanos, Brandon Marsh, and Johan Rojas.

Also, the addition of Whit Merrifield clogs the outfield even more.

Still, Pache will more than likely be given a chance at some point even if he does not make the Opening Day roster.

The Phillies are expecting to contend for a World Series this year.

The emergence of Pache with an above-average bat could make all the difference.

Pache has never lived up to the hype of being a top prospect.

But, he still has time to turn things around.
